πŸ”„ Switching from #BitcoinCore to #BitcoinKnots? No need to redownload the blockchain! Here’s how to reuse your existing data:

1. πŸ›‘ Stop your Bitcoin Core node.

2. πŸ“‚ Locate & move your data directory (usually `~/.bitcoin` or `C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin`).

3. πŸ’Ύ Install Bitcoin Knots from [their official website](https://bitcoinknots.org/).

4. πŸ› οΈ Configure Bitcoin Knots to use your existing data:

- Create `bitcoin.conf` in Knots' data dir.

- Add `datadir=/path/to/your/moved/data`.

5. πŸš€ Start Bitcoin Knots & let it verify your data.

6. βœ… Check sync status in the debug console.

Easy peasy! No redownload needed. #Bitcoin #Blockchain

Running Bitcoin Knots

πŸ™Œ you are at least one step ahead of me.

That’s a pleasure to learn Bitcoin together

Is port 8333 open, so that your node is a real relay?

I have open my Port 8333 on the Firewall.

But in Bitcoin Knots > Node Window > Information >

I see: Number of connections: 10 (In: 0 / Out: 10)

In: 0 => I don’t think this is correct

When you are running Knots in Umbrel, then that might be the pitfall:

I don’t use Umbrel, Linux, Raspberry Pi.

Have you checked this?

1) The "listening" flag in bitcon.conf is on?

https://github.com/bitcoinknots/bitcoin/blob/28.x-knots/doc/reduce-traffic.md

2) The rpi firewall does not block the port?
