Mining shitcoins just to buy btc with is on the edge but still acceptable imo.
Trading shitcoins is unethical and antithetical to #btc values IMHO; when one person makes money trading shitcoins, it’s nearly always because someone else got rugged.
Of course this is always the case in trading: one trader’s gains by definition are another’s losses. But with shitcoins, the game is a speculative, short-time-preference activity with no real value and further is entirely rigged so insiders can win.
Staying with the #bitcoin libertarian stance, it being unethical doesn’t mean it should be illegal. People can learn on their own to stop participating.

As I see it, being bitcoin only is about ethics. knowing that you're buying something without value just to sell it at a higher price is very different from buying bitcoin as long term savings and the intent to use it as money.
I stopped trading shitcoins once I realized the outcome was always more pain. Either for myself when I gambled and lost or for someone else when they gambled and loss.
Bitcoin is a win win. Crypto is always win lose.
I had a similar experience. I did all the things, one shouldnt do. Much like my dog, I have to learn the hardest way.
