AI isn't evil, at least not right now, but the people in charge of it definitely don't have our best interests as their priority.

That’s the truth! #pledfession

I am not convinced the I an AI is anyting more than a big multi threaded nested algorythm. The magic is no more impressive than the storing data on magnetic tape. Impressive, yes. Intelligent? Sentient? Alive? No.

The term AI is as misused as calling networked computers "the cloud".

I follow you on that , after all, artificial is what the A stands for and that means not real.

It's math, there is nothing more real than math in our universe.

Ahhh , but math … does it all come from nature ? Or is it also from somewhere other than nature ?

It doesn't have to be sentient or alive to create havoc among civilization. Just take a look at the current social media algorithms. People often fail to realize the magnitude of manipulation and psyops driven by these sophisticated algorithms. Once you become aware of how much advantage AI has over your perception due to the data you have provided, it can become incredibly difficult for you to sleep at night.

It wouldn't resemble a Terminator scenario, but rather a sophisticated surveillance systems similar to the ones employed by China today.

Exactly, like since the late 90s , I’m pretty sure we have been played with!

Completely agree on all you say. I was impelled to comment because AI is a tool much like a gun. It has a trigger and someone can jery rig up lots of ways to pull the trigger, but it's still the human taking the shot, not the string tied to the trigger, routed through a pulley, behind a curtain.

Those doing the conspiring are in fact aware that fear is a powerful control lever. Much of the fear is an illusion made believeable through constant marketing of the threat. Yes the threat is real, in the same way that the threat of a few well trained men could, say, derail train cars full of toxic chemicals, or destroy a remote gas pipeline.

I am encouraged by the nostr protocol becuase the common people might actually be able to connect with each other and build things that benefit each other. Our strenth is in remaining calm and trusting only those who are deserving of our trust. Othewise, "a thousand will tremble at the threat of one" and at the treat of five will flee in panic. -Isaiah 15-18

correction for those who may actually look it up - Isaiah 30: 15-18
