It’s always been that way. The only normal instances are kfcc and seal cafe, but the rest is just cancer (single user instances aside).

My instance is single-user, and I feel like I basically just get a vague potpourri of posts from all over the place. I haven't defederated anyone and basically never block anyone.

The general feeling is that everyone is addicted to drama and negativity in general. The world is an awful place, and we go there to make sure we know just how awful it is and make sure we're not missing any awful headlines. In the absence of awful headlines, we fight each other over whatever we feel like is important to fight over.

Maybe I'm just now starting to see that. I wonder what the average fedi user's time on the network is? A month? A year? I started about a year and a half ago, and as I look back, I don't think I'm better off for the time I've spent.

I mean, take today as an example...We all (myself included) obsessed over the banking crash, which is admittedly an ongoing thing and a big deal. But the moment trading was frozen, people went right back to talking about and how he/she is so bad and stupid and a tranny pedophile...All of which may or may not be true, but is it really worth spending precious brainpower on that?

We ought to be filling our minds, not with gossip, not with vague positivity and empty hope in the currency du jour, but with Jesus, history, survival know-how, pride in our heritage and in God's love for us, and all the great things our ancestors staked their entire purpose and meaning in life on.

But instead we drag each other down. Just a big bucket of crabs.

I don't think he'd waste his time on the internet, just like he didn't (as far as we know) waste his time writing letters to people.

I think he would be out healing people and casting out the demons that cause all of this mess in the first place.

But I'm not him, so I don't really know. I'm under the impression that when he returns, he won't be as nice and accommodating to the rulers of the world as he was last time.

Most of the Kiwi Farms CC users have been here since 2019, which is somehow 4 fucking years ago. We were the first normal people on Fedi, even tho there was lots of stupid drama and backstabbing and ill advised e-relationships in the first year. Most of us mellowed out.

Very true. The value fedi provides to me is being informed when things start to fall apart (since the people there are good at ferreting out real news sources and putting less emphasis on fake/gay news), so I can plan and act accordingly.

However, lately everyone has been so crazy that level heads have had a harder time prevailing. Just a few weeks ago everyone thought the Ohio train wreck was basically going to turn the entire US into a toxic biohazard zone. It was bad and will have some long-term effects, but blowing things out of proportion doesn't do anyone any favors. We have the MSM for that (even if they don't cover the same topics).

Tbh on Fedi I mostly just follow the shitposter e-women because I get a little dopamine hit when they talk to me. Conversations were much better when I posted on Gab.

The Orthodox aren’t really a denomination, they never developed that concept in the East. They’re just a continuation of the Church as it existed in the Byzantine Empire.
