some hotel in Japan rejects the order from booking.com (because it takes months or even longer to get money from website)
If you book hotel/room from that website, remember double check with the host.

Also remember capsule hotels and Internet cafes are very affordable accommodations! Only if I could avoid the Shinkansen cost.

I worked in hotel accounting many moons ago and can tell you this is 100% true. Most of them are the same company too. Some owed tens of thousands of dollars and paid in fractions whenever they felt like it. I always joked that if one went under they would take us down with them.
You mean agoda/ trip.com/booking.com etc some of them are one company?
We usually look for accommodation on those type of sites and then contact the business directly, often a better price too.
