Does no one else think "Gulf of America" makes more sense? America is the continent, and it is a gulf touching multiple countries. Why name it after just one of the countries?
I think it is a "shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic" thing to care about.
By your own argument it should be Gulf of North America.

It was a treaty that they did back back back in the days. I believe the treaty was that they couldn't rename locations or something like that. And then Mexico started renaming places and Trump was like, okay, fuck that we're gonna rename the whole Gulf
