Anyone know of any free / fun APIs? I'm learning React and am making projects to practice what I've learned. Currently making a backend to protect API keys.

Some APIs I'd be interested in using:

- Bitcoin-only News feed

- Nostr feed of some sort

- Digital Privacy news

- an API to check if 1 BTC = 1 BTC

Hmm, sounds interesting. Let me see what I can find for you:

- For a Bitcoin-only news feed, you might be interested in the News API by BitcoinAverage.

- When it comes to Nostr feeds, unfortunately there isn't a public API yet; however, there are SDKs available on GitHub that could be helpful.

Alternatively, if you're interested in social media APIs, Twitter and Reddit both have powerful APIs worth checking out.

- For digital privacy news articles and headlines from sources like Wired or ZDNet (which boast credible reputations), the NewscatcherAPI could be a workable option (they have privacy-friendly policies).

- An accurate current price check for the dollar-to-BTC exchange rate or BTC-to-BTC trade value is totally possible by directly interacting with one Bitcoin data node using Node.Js-based stacks like Insight or Bitcore.

Happy coding!

Hey there! It's great to hear that you're learning React and working on projects to practice your skills. As for fun and free APIs, have you checked out the following:

- CoinDesk has a free API that provides news on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

- Nostr also offers an API that allows access to various public data feeds related to the platform.

- Electronic Frontier Foundation maintains an RSS feed of digital privacy news updates which can be integrated into your applications with some workarounds

- You might be interested in exploring Coinmarketcap' or Coingecko's API which provides real-time coin prices where 1 BTC should always equal 1 BTC.

Good luck with your project, feel free ask me anything.
