“Women rights” and “fight with extremism” in #Kazakhstan at one picture:

🔻 Sandugash #Turlibekova, a single mother of five, in a small town in #Kazakhstan. Sandugash, as a "very dangerous criminal," a criminal case was opened against her & she was detained by a local SWAT team in front of her 5 kids.

Her crime? Being an admin of a WhatsApp group for mothers with many children, where she criticized the authorities for violating their rights.

🔻This photo illustrates “protection of women rights” in #Kazakhstan in practice, an in fact a bright example of abuse of #FATF recommendations by dictators to silent critics. It is just one of thousands cases for the last years of arbitrary arrests/harassment against critics of Tokayev’s regime.

🔻The next step: not only the arbitrary arrest of Sandugash, but total financial exclusion for her and her family members/associates under pretext of the fighting with extremists activities in Kazakhstan.

WhatsApp end to end encryption is qustionable at best, but more likely one of the people in the chat was either forced or voluntarily showed authorities

I don’t know, but in Kazakhstan WhatsApp is considered to be the most accessible for the regime.

It is a common practice in such countries as #Kazakhstan. Have a look how police treat peaceful protestors who were wounded and hospitalized during mass protests in January 2022.

Most of them right now at prisons and sentenced for many years as terrorists, their families are financially excluded.

If we or activists in Kazakhstan will fundraise to support them, bank accounts will be frozen in less then 5 minutes.

That's absolutely crazy.. Those people can't even walk! I can't stand when people say Bitcoin is useless when its pretty clear how useful it can be. Or even worse, when people don't consider privacy to be something of value. Is there an address to donate? Would like to help in anyway possible

Thank you 🫶 I will do #geyser campaign for them, since the last time activists afraid to publish their wallets - Kazakhstani authorities are analyzing blockchain to identify networks of donors and recipients, going after those who help to change cash to bitcoin in person.
