lol, this week booted my missus' 2010-ish vaio to wipe the drive. Beautiful slim black machine, i7, touch screen, everything a Mac Air should have been.

But sounds like a jet engine just booting windoze.

I don't have an answer but suggest plug in a Tails USB for a quick test. I suspect it will be the same cos bad heatsink engineering. 😉
