Yes. Also a good cleaning and some new thermal paste on the cpu may help

lol, this week booted my missus' 2010-ish vaio to wipe the drive. Beautiful slim black machine, i7, touch screen, everything a Mac Air should have been.

But sounds like a jet engine just booting windoze.

I don't have an answer but suggest plug in a Tails USB for a quick test. I suspect it will be the same cos bad heatsink engineering. 😉

mine is fat chunky one lol, early gen quadcore i7. use to daily drive it. i like the keyboard (better than the thinkpad) + its got numpad, installed win11 fine, the fan only goes crazy when i open youtube lol wtf?
