What's a good space for the run of a chicken tractor? My plan is 6 layers. The coop is found to be 24 sq ft with additional space for playing boxes. I've seen anywhere from 8sq ft per bird to 15sq ft.

Joshua —- been down this road for 15 years. I have tried them all, but my favorite is a chicken tractor that I move weekly and instead of a run, I use a movable fence from https://www.premier1supplies.com/poultry/fencing.php I do not even bother with electric hookup.

Are you moving the whole thing, run and coop, daily? If so, 8 is fine.

I seem to have 6sq ft per chicken stuck in my head. Mostly because I had 4 and made them a 30 sqft tractor cause they got an extra sqft per chicken. They had a lot of room. I moved it every other day.
