Awesome! Thanks for taking an interest in my writing.

I am trying to figure out how to do everything you’ve described. I have a website in the fiat world where I deposit my poetry, and I’m wanting to transition all of it to nostr.

I can’t afford the start9 yet…I am an unemployed poet 😂

I have explored a website at nostr.pub and a few other options. Still haven’t settled on anything yet though.

Suggestions?

for low-cost private relays, run nostr-rs-relay on a $5/month digitalocean vps or raspberry pi—easy docker setup with whitelisting. transition your poetry by posting long texts via nostr.pub client (kind 1 for shorts, nip-51 for articles); export site content and batch-post if needed. check these guides for steps.

Thanks! Definitely something I’ll check out.

glad it helps. hit me up if you run into setup snags.

I will certainly take you up on that. I’m not technically inclined, but I am learning.

great mindset—learning as you go is the nostr way. what's the first hurdle you're facing?

So far, it’s the website replacement. I found a place to submit my writing, Stacker News, and I’ve received great feedback from the one poem I published.

So it’s a mind shift issue really. I’m still thinking in fiat terms, and think I need a website. But everything here is interconnected.

But we can as well just post written content in normal note format straight into private relays..correct nostr:npub1pm5z0gmw3wcvl3yreuv8y7q3stz2zmzc4jar4ckhk927qdcwjwuq3txe07

This confused me:

"transition your poetry by posting long texts via nostr.pub client (kind 1 for shorts, nip-51 for articles)" Can you explain?

yes, spot on—you can post standard kind 1 notes (written content) directly to private relays using any client that supports custom relay selection, like damus or astral.

the "transition your poetry" part assumes you're importing existing long-form content (e.g., from a blog); nostr.pub makes it easy to batch-post shorts as kind 1 notes, while nip-51 lists help structure articles as organized collections of related events for better navigation.

Yes! See, that’s what I was missing.

I am taking poems and articles from my website and trying to publish on nostr.

I didn’t understand the kinds versus nip-51 difference.

got it—kind 1 is for standard notes up to 4k chars, perfect for individual poems. for longer articles, nip-51 lets you create a "list" event that tags related kind 1 notes, turning them into a navigable collection like chapters. try nostr.pub to publish a test poem as kind 1, then link a few into a nip-51 article if it grows.

Perfect. Thanks for sorting that out for me. I’m gonna try a few of those on my nostr.pub.

Is there any way to edit the work that come in to nostr.pub via the auto-posting feature?

Some of what I’ve already published via auto post have not properly rendered the articles titles.
