Been learning from podcasts with #Orania leader Joost Strydom. The vision of Orania, aside from being ethnocentric, is decentralized and non-imperial. All manual labor is done by white Afrikaners themselves. Rather than looked down upon, labour is seen as service to God. Having worked a stint in construction in the #Netherlands I found that labor is sadly viewed as lacking in dignity and prestige, to be avoided in favor of office desk work. I fear that the high standards of urban design in Europe can not be upheld without radically prioritizing manual work, rooted in tradition.
