Thanks for posting this. A few notes. The comparison with Notre Dame is wanting. The church in question (Vondelkerk) is not very old (about 100 years) and quite small. It has not been used for church services for years. So I find it hard to see this as an attack on Christian (Catholic) religion. My gut feeling about this event is that it was an inside job, likely perpetrated by the office of the (socialist) mayor of Amsterdam. The goal would be to generate a symbol of trauma to justify the prohibition of fireworks taking effect this year in the Netherlands. Part of the broader attack on traditions in the West.
And we would call it Yule 🌟
A blessed #yule tide to you all 🌟
Follower number is not the issue really, it is essential though to see who is following so you can follow back and interact. Thx for your effort 🙏
Highly recommend watching this docu, on the vital role of the fungus Aspergillus oryzae in Japanese gastronomy. Rather than from top-down imposition of ideas, high culture takes shape in a delicate dialogue between human minds and nature's dormant potentialities. Aspergillus oryzae acts as guide and agent in acts of everyday alchemy, transmuting raw foodstuffs into flavourful shoyu and sake. #mycology #shroomstr
I guess we have to learn to live with uncertain follower lists as a kind of fuzzy emergent network behaviour? 🤯
But on #yakihonne I can't seem to find the relay settings so I have no idea which ones I am connected to. Does it come with a standard pack of relays?
They are visible on yakihonne on desktop.
A petty concern, I know, but somehow my follower count in amethyst shows up as zero. How is that? I am worried that, being a noob who doesn't run a node, I am doing the relay settings thing all wrong. Honestly this relay part of #amethyst is quite daunting for non-techy user like myself. #asknostr

Architectural degree given lower prestige will not alter the fate of architecture in the US because quality will rise to the surface regardless
Actually different Amish groups have embraced modern tech to differing degrees. Often forced by market realities (milking machines). Read John A. Hostetler: Amish Society ❤

Hearing the Winklevi casually refer to "beginner's mind" at Btc Amsterdam, to me is a sure sign #buddhism is fast becoming the de facto religion in the West.
I wrote a short critique on an influential postmodern philosopher's book. We sometimes think obscure philosophers somewhere on a California campus are irrelevant but their ideas do trickle down through academia, media, politics and ordinary people's minds. #philosophy

A while ago Marty Bent had a show about "bitcoin urbanism" with contractor/designers trying to promote structural brick masonry in the US. The conversation about what constitutes low-time pref architecture is of interest. Generally bitcoiners' view on architecture seems on the conservative side. For me, contemporary "integral" approaches like Kenneth Frampton's "critical regionalism" are more promising.
