There are very few things I actually want to "run" in the cloud 😉

Partially I want to learn on...I mean that's the whole point of tech. So hosting on prem sound super appealing...but still learning more about how to secure network, etc, etc...defitnley an ambitious project for me being non tech, but wanna give it a try soon. Running the proxy in the cloud sounds interesting and will look into it! thanks.
Have a look at #tailscale. It's a personal VPN that can securely* make all your devices (home server, pi, phone, VPS, etc.) appear to each other like they're on the same network, so you can utilize them appropriately.
If you zap me, you're essentially asking my VPS proxy for an invoice from my tor LN node, but my LN node is hosted privately however I want; the sender never interacts directly with that private part of the stack, and I can move my node around whenever.
*Tailscale is based on wireguard which is reasonably & relatively secure. I pretty much trust it, but DYOR
I have heard of it, and see it come across multiple times, between all new concepts for me I had not yet turn to check it out. I just opened their site and am checking on this!
