Are rich people going to pay $5M for the privilege of having the US government involved in their income and assets?

What am I missing?

It is not nationality but residency/citicenship. Regular americans have it worst because the tax man follows you around the globe. The golden visa allows those rich people to come and go as they please from the US with their business on their back.

The american marken is huge, and for those types, 5M is pocket money.

Citizenship here requires that you report your financial situation to the IRS, whether you live here or not.

As far as I know, a citizen is a citizen. We don't have regular and irregular Americans that I know of. Not with citizenship. You get all the goods unless you renounce.
