My kids get already 3 to 5 presents from the family, I was also thinking that it's too much so we choose to gift one more only. I prefer 2-3 good, durable, gift, than a lot of crap.

My wife usually agree first but then last minute she feel gulty to restrict their gift and buy additional stuff. On top of the multiple advent calendars with not only chocolate but also Lego, gadgets, socks, toy cars and shit.

I always complain that it's too much and then all year long you pay the price as the rooms are huge mess with all these crappy toys and of course they refuse to get rid on any of them.

As a kid I suppose I was getting many present but probably not more than 5 and I remember only the nicest one, so I would say stick to nice ones first, add a couple more if you can but only if it will be enjoyed.

But in then end, do as you can and in your budget. I don't think you can really get wrong.
