How do you "hold the mirror up" to someone who's obviously trapped by their own mind? I know a guy who carries on about his day like someone pissed in his fruit loops, not a bad person but just consumed by anger and frustration so much of the time. Someone else, a narcissist, its so clear how their lack of belief in a higher power (and I'm not exactly religious, but I am aware of the potential side effects of atheism) leads to their narcissism, then their narcissism leads to nihilism; I can see it bleeding from them, but they are so wrapped up in the fault of others that they can't see what they do to themselves. Not everyone is conscientious, is it right to try to help them understand the damage they do to themselves? How would you?

They have to realize the problem on themselves, IMHO. Like an alcoholic or a druggie.

Knowing they have a person, willing to help them is massive and could be the initial trigger; so stay as close as you can, let them know you're always there for them.

I guess you yourself have to be the mirror, stoic, thriving, and open, a view into a better way to be.

That's the best approach 🤙💜
