I see, it seems to me as though you are conflating race (a biological condition) with identification (a psychological condition) I think that I can see from your words that you are not actually racist and are prepared to give anyone a fair chance but your use of these words incorrectly creates a disconnect in understanding, perhaps leading you to a racial bias (or "soft racism"), not so much intentional racism but more of a learned protection mechanism, sometimes attributed to a "reverse halo effect".
