Bitcoiners and Hardforks do not go well together.

Yes wrong. Aint no 9ne gonna hard fork for that. Not this far in the game

Why not second layer?

Because what we are aiming for is fungibility not a way to buy guns privately or without being detected. Each bitcoin has history that cannot be removed. Fungibility exists when there is no history and no way to 'follow' bitcoin from wallet to wallet or person to person. On the second layer you might be able to make a reasonably private transaction but eventually you will get the main chan bitcoin again with all its history. You might get tainted bitcoin or clean bitcoin but thats not in your control. And fungibility should be for all users not just some. It should be ON by default.

Just my persepecrive.

That would be great, but i think we're beyond that now. It is what it is. Bitcoin will be so valuable that even if the tradfi doesn't want your tainted bitcoin it will still be valuable due to everyone trying to exit the fiat ponzi. There will always be a black market for it.

But that still doent make it fungible. You just think tainted bitcoins will be accepted regardless becuase of their value.

Time will tell i guess.

I think bitcoin is too far along for any successful fork to happen. In my mind, so many of us exit the system that it won't really matter. I don't care about the history of my coin and I'm sure I'm not alone. It's the nation states that play these games and they will become less relevant to those who recognize their false authority.

I agree, fungibility is ideal. But i think bitcoin is too far along for major changes in regards to that. We have to work with what we have
