Some notes don’t require a reply. And often I just don’t have anything of value to add.
And yet some do and still get nothing. I’ve seen a ton of greetings just ack’ed by a 🤙🏻! Not a great thing if you ask me. I might be dumb by trying to reply to all of the GM/GN/hello threads, and should stop doing it 🐶🐾🤷♂️
I often reply with emojis because they save on words that don’t really need to be spelled out. It’s just being efficient not lazy
Then you have ones like me that do actually like reading the conversations. I've never made a first post or I guess they call them notes but I've made several replies.
I only ever used emoticons :) then fishcake is sending me a paragraph in emoji form in his gm. I now send them back to him & the odd person.
Its all personal preference, myself included pretty much zapped every gm/gn i see. When able i note with the people i get up with. Then see how my say goes.

I guess I really haven't thought about it much in about 5-6 years. I've been battling stage 4 cancer for that long.
Honestly I'm very naturally curious with almost everything. I guess I have more of a life story at this point than interests. Not that it's a bad thing but I'm very blessed.
I like your voice. If you would indulge, what was the craziest thing you did in your youth?
Jumped off the side of a dam. It's was a drop in at 90ft. I screwed up by going into my form early and started blowing around in the wind. I had to open back up to rebalance and almost completely straighten up before hitting the water. It was hard and surprisingly only went about 10' under.
Oh man, my biggest drop was 50ft and i was harnessed in to a natural swing.
I can’t imagine having the time to go, thats not good better twist this way.
I'd say this is a pretty significant problem. Everyone I've invited to Nostr from my local Bitcoiner Meetup gives up within a couple weeks because they feel isolated.
Pretty much the same handful of accounts dominates the feed and even their low value posts end up sucking up all of the engagement.
Agree, we lack micro communities and end-up with few in the feed. I try to follow many and see a lot of different notes myself, but for new accounts it must be impossible to find good threads or followers. 🐶🐾🫂
I personally try to reply or engage with as many notes on Nostr as possible every day. I agree with you on many of the messages we see with the GM/GN messages.
