I will argue from the opposite position here and say that this type of model is a rent seeking model and not a value for value model.

All a client would need to do is offer the minimum service and then collect money. Other clients will pop up offering less of a rake, or more options, and market competition will force a race to the bottom and the clients will become free anyway, but then they will need to monetize in another way anyway. Kind of the way robinhood is.

Let’s skip all that and go right to value for value, here are a couple of thoughts I have.

A client could also offer data storage and relay usage, or wallet hosting as a service.

I agree their needs to be monetization for the devs, I’d just like to see some new models emerge from the fact we have instantaneous transmission of a bearer asset at our disposal.
