No, people don't “pay” them. Taxes are extorted from them, otherwise they go to prison.

This only refers to income tax tho...
Ironic how Austria has a high tax rate when it's where the concept of Austrian economics came from.
This seems way too low. It probably shows only the income tax, omitting VAT and other mandatory payments. The whole thing is usually 65% and more in Europe.
