Theyd need to outlaw cash first as you could withdraw it from the bank and then adapt legislation to more intricatly control the banks too. Implementing CBDC is the more streamlined approach.

Im certainly no fan of having big miners as an attack vector like that, but what would this accomplish really? There would be still considerable hashpower in uncontrolled jurisdictions mining sanctioned txs no? Compliant mining would be less profitable in the end...
Even when in reality you couldnt know for sure, if in this scenario there was only 1 life to be saved (my nephew), I would likely steal the ladder and use it because of personal preference of my nephews life compared to the damage caused. In the aftermath I would be liable for the damages caused and regard it as a fee for not being prepared with my own ladder. The motives of the owner of the ladder might have been righteous themselves as he was wisely preparing to save his own peers because of the high fire risk in the area for instance and at the same time he has a disregard for your people.
I would regard it as violation. Your actions may cost another nephews life which couldnt be saved anymore by the ladder owner who prepared for this scenario and got his shit stolen. This relates to the calculation problem.

Ok thats sounds like what I thought. Routing and liquidity are limiting aspects to consider. The "senders have exceptional privacy by default" seems somewhat overblown as I dont think that would be the case for most users setups no? I also heard from many users they had issue sending succesfully or getting their channels closed even tho they said they have a non-custodial setup with fenix wallet. So even tho I dont know about Zeus itself, it seems like youd have to be quite educated to use it reliably. Thanks for elaborating your point 👍
I thought receiver and nodes on the route would need to offer sufficient capacity beforehand to even handle the transaction no? How would a route be formed to a node thats not connected to my part of the network yet? Wouldnt a exceptionally large transaction be recognized as such by nodes when balancing their channels? Maybe sending BTC 100 worth would be different? Sorry for giving so much questions but I have limited understanding of UX on LN
