Just sayin'... big difference between Swiss and Japanese quality.
Can’t generalize like that.
GS finishing is like Swiss finishing of old. They stand alone today in that regard.
That being said, Rolex/Tudor always made the most robust cases/movements.

I can generalize because I am a certified master watchmaker.
"Grand" Seiko's are like Timex's to me. Now give me a Patek Perpetual Calendar or a Parmigiani Fleurier and we can talk quality.
Grand Seiko is not like timex, they’re on an entire different level, and as a watchmaker, I’m sure you know that.
I respect we have different interests in this space, and that’s OK, but GS makes has the best dial game in the world IMO, and I love them… I won’t respect them less because they’re Japanese. Instead I admire their OCD levels of perfection.
but I do have a Patek 5159 perpetual calendar… and admire high horology too.
Those are both hella nice timepieces. I’ve got wood. 
Cool piece!! First time seeing a wooden watch.
I got this one as a 5 year service award for the home builder I managed projects for. They even CNC’d a custom message in the back.
