Is mint just green Ubuntu? I've never figured out what the difference was. #linux

Mint is feminine ubuntu. Much more forgiving.
It's Ubuntu for Windows users.
I'm pretty sure it's Ubuntu with xfce. It does run better on weak hardware, old laptops etc. Whenever I get an older laptop, I always go with Mint. But otherwise, it's Ubuntu.
