If you only use sats there are never any decimal places.
If you only use sats you should just call them bitcoins
If we started from the beginning again sure. But cat's out of the bag. Calling a sat a bitcoin at this stage is gonna confuse the fuck out of ppl and create an environment where half the ppl and systems change terminology and half dont.
If you thought explaining 100m sats = 1 bitcoin is tough to understand, imagine explaining to someone this bitcoin is worth 100m of that bitcoin.
I understand the sentiment but I promise that conversion is not where people get confused learning about bitcoin 😂
In orange pilling people, introducing the word “sat” makes everything sound fake and cringy
To be fair, all bitcoiners are pretty cringy so I get it. But even having to explain Satoshi to people makes them lose interest. I do not explain Satoshi to people because it makes bitcoin sound like a fiction novel (which it kinda is, but they don’t need to know that right now lol)

I've orange pilled a lot of people in my nearly decade of being a bitcoiner. People who actually care to learn will understand instantly and move on to more important stuff.
Those who get caught up because it sounds cringy aren't ready to learn no matter what you throw at them. They will either HFSP or get the proce they deserve.
I simultaneously agree with everything you said and also disagree with the idea of not making things easier for precoiners
I was primarily orange pilled using blue wallet and the permissionlessness of bitcoin really clicking. Obviously, in that moment, I wasn’t running a node or really fully understand what was happening but I don’t think I get orange pilled without that tool that made things easier. Same with sats, why would we keep an arbitrary hurdle for more adopters?
It’s not arbitrary. The idea of changing everything to satisfy a tiny but vocal minority isn’t worth even considering. It will never happen. This isn’t even up for debate.

Decimals are rightfully confusing. It doesnt get any easier than sats, especially when we are hovering around 100k.
100m sats = 1 bitcoin
1000 sats = $1

It makes the most sense to me to wait until $1MM a coin and then convert to 1BTC=$0.01
That only works if there's a central entity's dictating the change. In a decentralized construct you cannot reasonably expect to reach 100% consensus on terminology changes in the snap of a finger. The transition process will cause chaos and confusion.
And quite frankly there are bigger problems to worry about in this world.
Yes let’s change every wallet and every bitcoin video, podcast, book, blog post, and tutorial because a few people are bored with the speed of adoption.
