In the past month I have gotten two bills for services that I had received over two years ago. For both of them this is the first time I have been contacted about owing anything and they are both for less than $20. One is from the administrator for a therapist I saw that I had set up to auto pay after each session. The other is a water/sewer bill from the city for a 5 day period just before I moved out of my previous address.

How ridiculous is it that they come to me with this after 2+ years, and for such small amounts? I feel like it's a scam, because so much times has passed I have no way to verify these are legit charges. Are they just hoping I will pay the small amount to get them off my back?

I already told the therapy admin to F off, but I'm not sure I want to fuck with the city. I think I'm going to ask them to review it at the very least though. Freaking ridiculous though, how poorly run could they be to take this long to contact me?
