Should a music app also have video?
I used to think so because all these apps converge.
But in nostr,, I’m not so sure anymore.

Apps that have aaaall Music.
That's the dream that can only happen:
- On a permissionless protocol
- If the media is decentrally hosted (Blossom servers + P2P on top)
- If the apps are not companies (nostrocket fixes this)
If you want to build this and maybe go to jail 👉 Let me know!

I’ve been thinking the same thing. They all seem to copy each others features, stories, shorts, comments. Spotify has courses now. Starting to feel like YT
Not necessarily indeed.
Personally would just really like to be able to scroll down and see some links to videos of Live versions of the same song (like I sketched here). Links that anyone can add btw.
I started on the proof of concept for the music thing today, and thought about video. I think it's unnecessary, the social layer will permeate the music app and the video app
Should video app have music?
I don't really watch videos.
I'd love a simple audio app that I could divert my podcast feeds to and zap the podcaster. They actually often publish as RSS or in a downloadable format.
Doesn't Breez wallet have something like that? But probably not built on Nostr.
I'd like this too.
Podcast is a different use case:
- it's language, so you need a stronger text focus with highlights etc
- it needs clips
- you want to change the speed of the audio
- etc...
Yeah, sorry I brought it up like a Boomer. 🤣
It could look very similar though.
Btw: how do apps like Fountain not live to your expectations? I'm curious
I'd never heard of it.
Can I add other people's podcasts to it, just to listen for myself? Like a podcast tape-player? Most of my favorite podcasts have nothing to do with Bitcoin or Nostr, so they aren't going to be on there.
I think there are 2 use cases. Usually one just want to listen to music. The only scenario I see videos as plus is when people are organising a function and to have videoclips or nice videos going on with the music to add to the vibe.
