I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see a growing number of physicians breaking free from the (broken) traditional healthcare system and focusing on the simple, yet massive benefits of proper nutrition.

Most of them share a similar story to me of personal and professional trial and error, frustration, and even outrage at being deceived (read: "manipulated") by Big Pharma- and Big Ag-sponsored nutritional studies and proponents as a part of our medical school, residency, and fellowship curricula.

The outrage is intensified for many of us, since we naturally passed this poor nutritional "advice" along (as though gospel) to our thousands (millions?) of patients over many years and decades.

In our attempts to heal our patients, we unwittingly made them sicker.

5+ years ago, I would have scoffed at any post, book, or show that touted the obvious benefits a #carnivore or #ketogenic diet.

But I have since learned that the standard American--primarily sugar/carbohydrate-based--diet is actually the root cause of many of our most life-altering and expensive medical conditions, like atherosclerosis, certain cancers, and autoimmune disorders.

The basic fact that I came across is that you want your glucose levels low. At a certain threshold your body starts creating fat. Carbs, sugar, all that stuff should be minimized as much as possible. Seems simple…
