I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see a growing number of physicians breaking free from the (broken) traditional healthcare system and focusing on the simple, yet massive benefits of proper nutrition.

Most of them share a similar story to me of personal and professional trial and error, frustration, and even outrage at being deceived (read: "manipulated") by Big Pharma- and Big Ag-sponsored nutritional studies and proponents as a part of our medical school, residency, and fellowship curricula.

The outrage is intensified for many of us, since we naturally passed this poor nutritional "advice" along (as though gospel) to our thousands (millions?) of patients over many years and decades.

In our attempts to heal our patients, we unwittingly made them sicker.

5+ years ago, I would have scoffed at any post, book, or show that touted the obvious benefits a #carnivore or #ketogenic diet.

But I have since learned that the standard American--primarily sugar/carbohydrate-based--diet is actually the root cause of many of our most life-altering and expensive medical conditions, like atherosclerosis, certain cancers, and autoimmune disorders.

Wonderful. What made you open your eyes?

Seems like it’s probably not sugar it’s the seed oils and other artificial additives that destroy metabolism. nostr:nprofile1qqsr26r4lltjnvrwadxp67ns58m4qpzaqemhf5sup7hlujhjh7t296qpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduqsuamnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dshsfml7jq could show you down the Ray Peat rabbit hole

I’m a physician assistant and am right with you. The system is so broken

Are there benefits of carnivore/keto independent of caloric control?

It is amazing how difficult it is to get highly educated people to think for themselves.

Such people often “succeed” throughout their school lives by being the best at memorization and compliance.

Few are rewarded (and are often punished) for independent thought.

Educated is a fancy word for programmed. The more programmed someone is the more difficult to deprogram.

Big ag/food profits on the front end, the mental/medical pharmaceutical complex profits on the back end. Add to that, a sick (or when one believes themself to be sick) and dependent populace is much easier to control

The “mental health” pharmaceutical complex makes the corruption and manipulation of “traditional medicine” look like child’s play

I saw a figure recently that said 85% of doctors work under the umbrella of a corporation, and only 15% are private practice. Let that sink in

I've walked this long gruelling road to fixed my serious health issues after a range of traditional specialists failed. The next level is avoiding junk light and nnEMF.

The basic fact that I came across is that you want your glucose levels low. At a certain threshold your body starts creating fat. Carbs, sugar, all that stuff should be minimized as much as possible. Seems simple…

Crohns disease here: 10 years of doctors and pills. Constant abdominal pain and significant loss of sleep. Then I try a carnivore diet and my life is back. No pain, less pills, and good sleep.

My sister is a dietitian tho and now she’s worried about my health because i eat too much meat.

Wut?

wait until you explore the benefits of an 80/20 approach to cardiovascular training (80% at zone 2. 20% at zones 4 and 5) stacked on top of a carnivore forward diet for optimal metabolic health and mitochondrial function.

thing is you’ll need some quality simple carbohydrates like organic fruit and raw honey to support optimal hormone levels and endocrine system health.

check out the work of Dr Inigo San Milan on the specific benefits of 80/20 mentioned above
