What’s the retention rate like when new users realize the dopamine here isn’t as good as on other platforms?

Not good

That’s no bueno

We need Digit. She is the goddess of dopamine. Her pfp on Discord was even the dopamine molecule once. I miss her so much.

I know right???💜🔥🔥💯

Come for the dopamine, stay for the authenticity. Not quite sure lack of retention amongst attention seekers is too much of a cause for concern. They’ll return after learning themselves a little more. We all have our pace

I don’t think it’s fair to call them attention seekers. The other platforms are so dialed in with human psychology. It sure will be a slow grind

Point well taken. There’s so much emotional manipulation am sure many don’t even realise. Excuse unfair characterisation or wording, been a long time since I experienced centralised social media and watching some friends use it, does end up seeming a little addictive on feeling of engagement. Not really the same thing

I get a huge hit when someone follows or comments. I'm like, wow, those people on all that other social media don't even have a chance. No wonder why they stare at their phones

Um, I've seen nostr have a couple big new user waves - Reddit and Matt Taibbi and his fans. It's not really the dopamine hit thing, it was The Nostr Problem. But it might not be relevant to this wave, or less so. No idea. Let's see lol. I'll post my rubbish either way, if they stay or go lol

I bet it’s a a lot of things. How I see it most people want to feel good and tiktik or ig does this really well

It’ll be similar to people’s welcome to bitcoin

It was for me
