This is the thing that would motivate me to upgrade my nostr experience. There's a gajillion doodadamajigs all y'all techy peeps are doing and it just looks too fiddly to interest me. But a truly FOSS replacement for YouTube? Yes.

Truly? I was working on this problem a while ago and just lost all momentum due to life and me being uncertain how to make it at least a little worth my time investment.
What would you be willing to pay?
For the record, I have over a decade of streaming video experience in and r&d lab for a huge media company you definitely have heard of. You’re likely using tech me and 3 of my peers invented and wrote patents for. Every day. We didn’t give our best ideas to the big corp we worked for - we saved them for ourselves. And I was looking to give them away for free on nostr, hoping to obviate most media.
…I’d just like to make a little money from it. But it’s hard to do that when the solution is decentralized and freely given.

I bet there's grants available for getting a YouTube replacement on nostr. Idk how it works, but I bet an experienced dev could do alright with it. I have lots of bets tonight...
