Agreed. Both the hardware wallet topic and the LN wallet topic warrant these discussions. None of the options available are perfect. But some are closer to perfection than others.

Yes you’re right.

I haven’t found the best lightning wallet yet.

One may emerge this year. It seems like there’s lots being built on lightning.

Pain - in this case from from high fees - usually leads to solutions

I guess the high fees on-chain don't bother me too much because I dont require speed for confirmations. Even if I wait 2 weeks for a confirmation, its still faster than Visa or Mastercard settlement which can take up 2 years to settle.

In both Bitcoin and Visa, the transaction appears instantly, but Bitcoin clearly has the faster settlement time, even during periods of high fees.

If im buying a big ticket item, i will pay the higher fee. So this isnt very often.

Otherwise, I can wait, and im typically not spending my bitcoin, im receiving it 😉

The only reasons I use LN really is for Nostr lol

Unpopular:

I do run a lightning node, but i use wallet of satoshi when travelling and encountering street merchants in different countries who dont speak any of the 5 languages that I do.

Whether they know if they are using LN or core doesnt matter with WOS and breaks down alot of barriers.

I dont mind using a custodial service that just makes things work for everyone when im talking about temporary hot wallet storage anyway.

I dont have time for a failed LN transaction due to liquidity, language barriers, and routing, as a tourist.

I do not, but know that its alternative to LN if im not mistaken.
