Pro tip;

Use the rip.

Go into the rip, let it drag you out into deeper water, swim parallel to the beach to get out of the rip, the waves will bring you back in.

This is how we learnt to swim at the beach as children.

the only energy required is swimming parallel to the beach for a few metres to get out of the rip.

Then you just float back in on the waves the same way you float out in the rip
