⚡️⚠️ 🌊 IMPORTANT - Before jumping into the water this summer, take two minutes to read this — it could really protect you.

If you notice waves breaking on both sides with a calmer stretch of water in the middle… do not go in!

This is what’s known as a rip current — it can pull you out to sea in just seconds, even if you’re a strong swimmer.

In such cases, getting back to the beach can be very difficult, even impossible without help.

For your safety, always take a moment to observe the sea before laying down your towel.

That simple habit could save your life. A small piece of advice that could make all the difference.

Great tip, thanks.

Knowledge can really save your life

Swim parallel to the shore to get out of it. If you’re not a strong swimmer, just float!

Good advice. Do not try to swim back to the shore - against the current. It might be scary at first beeing draged out but the current ends about 50meters form the shore.

This current pattern is very frequent on sandy beaches. But if you know what to do it is not too dangerous.

Pro tip;

Use the rip.

Go into the rip, let it drag you out into deeper water, swim parallel to the beach to get out of the rip, the waves will bring you back in.

This is how we learnt to swim at the beach as children.

the only energy required is swimming parallel to the beach for a few metres to get out of the rip.

Then you just float back in on the waves the same way you float out in the rip
