This is a very important question.
I acted directly contrary to Jesus teachings, therefore I am condemned by my actions.
The only reason I have hope, is that Jesus forgives my sins. That’s why I pray to Jesus for forgiveness of my sins. And with the help of him, I live according to his law, within the limitations of my fallen nature. Not to redeem myself, this I cannot because of my already committed sins, but to glorify my GOD Jesus Christ for what he did for me, to be able to forgive my sins. He lived a sinless life and died for me, and all humanity, so that I can be pardoned on the day of judgement.
Jesus was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which he had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share.
Sadly there is an other group of people, the ones who knew what would have been right, but who choose to do wrong nevertheless. They knew it was wrong because they knew the law of GOD, but chose wilfully to do evil. They will be judged for their actions.
But what is with the people who have no knowledge of the law of GOD?
Jesus will judge them according to their conscience.
Even if you don’t know GOD, he will impress your conscience to do good, and abstain from evil. The ones that followed their conscience will not be condemned, those who acted badly and against their conscience will be condemned.
I do not pretend to know everything pertaining to the judgement of God, but this is what I have understood so far. I wish this is helpful to you.
