Twitter blocking search function if you use a VPN so they can easily track IP addresses.

Search is dynamic and has a compute cost. Could have been a DoS preventative measure.

Still, why allow search from known IP addresses with no limitations, if that’s the reason?

Traceability? I dunno. It bothers me when sites don't allow usage of Tor or VPNs or alter the experience dramatically
