Twitter blocking search function if you use a VPN so they can easily track IP addresses.
Grateful we have nostr. đ

And all Elon nut riders can go fuck themselves!
For real? That's insane.
Watch The Amityville Horror. The house itself was telling the family to âget outâ.
Ok is elon actually trying to destroy twitter? Serious question
See you back on Twitter later today. #addict
Ah, wondered why it wasn't working. Urgh.
Really? Are the tor services still up?
I was able to search user posts and general search over NordVPN
The dedicated onion services no longer work. But I think you can still use Twitter over Tor browser hitting the clearnet URL
Search is working with no issues on nitter.net (or other mirrors of nitter). You can even use in Tor with javascript turned off.
Yes, nitter instance have no problems
What do you use to search on nostr?
Lmao whatđ its like they want people to leave
i havenât noticed that,
This is insane. Itâs like they actually are telling people to migrate to nostr
Now who is going to build the best Nostr search engine?
PageRank (the google secret sauce from back in the day) using mentions instead of hyperlinks would probably be decently effective. Hashtag spam might become problematic (since you could think of them as keywords, a la the meta field in html), since they cannot be applied invisibly.
Works w/ Orbot in VPN modeđ¤ˇ
Only reason I still use twitter is because there are a lot of normies and other folks there that I want to talk to and share resources about bitcoin, progressive arguments for bitcoin, etc. but I want them here!! *Sigh*

Oh that's what it is? I thought maybe it was because my DNS is set up to block all their noxious ads.
Still need to get the indie journalists over here.
Matt Taibbi seems like a nostrich egg just waiting to hatch. It would be awesome if we could onboard all the Twitter files journalists.
running Orbot
Some locations are blocked while others are not
Absolutely Elon gettin no 84 bucks off me. Free speech is free Elon not 7$ a month.

Odd, I haven't seen any issues so far over IVPN.
I'm sure it's coming though, and already transitioning mostly to Nostr.
Vpn search seems to work for me. Maybe itâs just certain jurisdictions?
The only reason to do this is to build a surveillance system. How do we purple pill the remaining Twitter 'users'*?
* not sure if calling them users is accurate, because Twitter is using them more than they actually get back in return...

Your post is being widely read.

VPN users will be fined $1,000,000 &/or 1 year in prison: The RESTRICT ACT.
The US Empire is going after privacy, encryption... everything:

I noticed that too.
"Something went wrong."
I'll say. đ
Grateful for nitter.
Been using the nitter bitcoin and privacy list you shared a while back.
Twitter can suck it.
I think itâs a bug because you can do it on iOS using a VPN
Noticed that too, Nostr came right in time
Inevitable migration to open networks.
The UX of closed networks is about to become awful due to the ârestrict actâ. Watch this video NOW đ

Restrictions wonât stop at search. Same will come for posting. Same for following.
Soon it wonât only be for VPN use. Twitter will move to verify your identity & social credentials before many app actions. People will be forced to adopt alternatives. Livelihoods will depend on it. Truth will depend on it. You will depend on it.
This is trivial to override using a bounce node and scrubbing/replacing env vars. There will be extensions that kill this overnight. Don't know what they are thinking.
haha that's so lame.
I literally havenât logged into Twitter since I started using Nostr more frequently in September
Likely because the bots are using the IP range for spam? I have sympathy for the engineers cuz they must be having a really hard time with bot farms.
I try to block bot accounts (usually generic Asian girls) every day from following my profile on Twitter. I swear someone is trying to track profiles with them. Full of retweets, generic photos and quotes. It's annoying.
How are those bots able to create accounts? I don't understand how Twitter makes it so easy for millions of bots to make accounts. Seems like a major flaw for such a big tech company. đ¤
Ahh ha, now I understand. I really should be sticking around here anyway.
