That's a dangerous mindset to keep around. Much like all of the people who think they rule over us, I spend my days figuring out how to best dodge taxes. Why should we participate in a system of theft under duress, while they don't have to?

I think my issue with bitcoin maximalism is that they push the idea that bitcoin is inevitable and number go up is certain.

I understand the arguments for bitcoin very well. I am a big fan of Austrian economic thinking.

But nothing is certain or inevitable.

CBDCs could be rolled out tomorrow across the world and most people would blindly accept them in the event of some emergency. Just like how most people room the Covid vax.

I think older generations really struggle to comprehend how shitty salaries are nowadays for the average under 30 year old.

I remember getting offered a job in London as Financial Analyst for some Bank. Caveat: it was 12 month internship on basically living wage in the centre of London. Had to be in the office before 8 am and be lucky if you got to leave at 7 pm. So you work your ass for a year all day with no social life and you can barely afford to pay the rent to live in a London. With no guarantee of a full time job after internship is over.

This was the same for other jobs applied to.

Then these same older generations and companies complain gen-z is lazy and useless in the workplace.

Not to come across ungrateful but people will be motivated to work hard when they are paid their fair share. Instead they are selling their souls to some corporation for BS pay.

It’s why I highly recommend to young people to avoid university and figure out your own way to make a living. It’s a lot more meaningful way to live.

I know people have been saying this for a long time, but US debt looks very scary.

Currently $32.7 trillion in debt.

51% of that must be refinanced before 2025.

Interest rates are 500 basis points higher than the time of original issuance.

Doing some sums and the US government needs to find an extra $900bn a year by 2025, to cover the debt balloon from globalisation years. For context $900bn is the entire US military.

The US debt structure isn’t very long sighted, 80% of the debt has to be refinanced before 2030.

For comparison the average maturity of British Gilts is 15 years.

Options for USA:

1). Increase tax revenue from $4.9T to $6.0T

2). Cut spending from $6.5T to $5.5T

3). Dilute the dollar and eat inflation

4). Some combination of the above

Obviously they will go for option 4). but the weightings between the options are going to be huge game changers for various groups and nobody over there seems to talk about it.
