I think older generations really struggle to comprehend how shitty salaries are nowadays for the average under 30 year old.

I remember getting offered a job in London as Financial Analyst for some Bank. Caveat: it was 12 month internship on basically living wage in the centre of London. Had to be in the office before 8 am and be lucky if you got to leave at 7 pm. So you work your ass for a year all day with no social life and you can barely afford to pay the rent to live in a London. With no guarantee of a full time job after internship is over.

This was the same for other jobs applied to.

Then these same older generations and companies complain gen-z is lazy and useless in the workplace.

Not to come across ungrateful but people will be motivated to work hard when they are paid their fair share. Instead they are selling their souls to some corporation for BS pay.

It’s why I highly recommend to young people to avoid university and figure out your own way to make a living. It’s a lot more meaningful way to live.

💯

My first year working in London as a grad I got into more debt because my salary didn't cover my living expenses.

The property situation really is terrible now, even outside of London. A crappy 2 bed ex-council house in some crappy town can go for at least £300k these days.

Yeh exactly what I meant. My sister was the same after 2 years living in London so she moved to Canada.

I work in music, i worked 2 jobs and did whatever to find time to find my way when i was young. Just got on with it. Where is the drive? You want something that pays well but don’t want to strive for it? Eh? Head down, work hard, pays off. Yeah my social life ‘sucked’ but it paid off 🤷‍♂️

Kenya 🇰🇪 colony not even trying to set a better example. Couldn’t be worse ! I feel your pain buddy

Yeh I probably sound very ungrateful from a westerns perspective. It does feel like the UK is slowly crumbling to the dark ages.

Ungrateful? Not at all. No matter the location, economically we’re all experiencing similar hardships. I just spoke to friends in qatar 🇶🇦 there’s no jobs since the world cup , residents returning to home countries since they were living on savings

Interesting indeed. I guess we all been screwed over by fiat.

I saw today Argentina Peso lost 20% of its value overnight after the election.

Crazy times.

Yea bet they wish the bought some sats like el salvador 🇸🇻

America too.

No jobs in US?

Increasingly no jobs that support a decent lifestyle here in the US. Pay and expenses need to be relevant to each other, they haven’t been for a while, hours worked have made up the differences until recently.

this seems to be the state in each state
