Looking for options for next winter

Flights to the Caribbean 😂

🤣🤣

Antminer is no consumer friendly? 😅

Something that my wife or kid could turn on or change the heat without logging in to braiins OS+ and playing with the hash boards or performance. So no 😂

There are options for radiant heating and full home heating installations now…

This is interesting 👀

Interesting. Thanks

Can a family member who knows nothing about mining operate this?

Waiting for the Avalon Q to come back in stock

Nice! Can a family member that doesn’t know anything about mining operate this easily? Do you have any experience with this?

I’ve been happy with the Avalon three I got about a year ago. It’s pretty simple, comes with preset power/Hash rate options. The one I have has stopped mining a few times, but a quick unplug and replug got it back on track. I would’ve only known to do that though, if I hadn’t been watching my hashrate. It’s probably the one I would trust the most to give to somebody less technical.

Interesting. Good to know. I’ll look into how the app works. Thanks

Can you set the mining pool to whichever you want or you have to use the preset one?

Yeah, you can set up the mining pool yourself

S9 with noctua fans is all u need dawg

Looking for something more user friendly so family members can operate this without going into Braiins OS+

bitaxe. None of them will be profitable unless you have free electricity. I crunch BOINC (help cure cancer) for heating in the winter.

That’s just not true. The heating system of the house is turned off while the miner is on. The miner uses less electricity than the heating system while also providing me with sats. That’s literally the definition of mine4heat.

Bitaxe can’t heat the house and doesn’t produce any substantial amount of sats

https://heatbit.com but probably a scam.

What’s your experience with it? Have you tried it?

I know some said the older models had issues and needed to be returned. Is that the case for the new ones?

Oh I don’t know, I use an s9 to heat the house and my kids make fun of me because of how loud it is 😂

I see 🤭

Looking for something consumer friendly the replace the old miner. But I rather base my decision on something others have tried

Understandable for sure

Ordered one in Jan to give it a try and still has not arrived so could be true!😂

Hopefully it can double as a sauna in the Summer if it ever shows up....

Oh wow! Is it like a go fund me? Was it known in advance that it would take this long?

Update: device showed up, but you have to KYC to use the app for it and the privacy policy can be summarized as "we'll give your data away", you can't just pick a pool or solo mine - I have a giant pricey paper weight now 😂 oh well....

Oof can’t pick a pool is harsh. Can you put in fake info for the kyc? Or does it need a credit card?

OMG NO 😓 I warned you it was probably a scam

This looks futuristic. It doesn’t say what type of miner or the energy consumption. Do you have any experience with it?

Actually sorry no I don’t. I got in touch with them to see if they ship to NZ but it was a no go. I saw another poster here who was doing a blow-by-blow account of his build-out and I seem to recall he was using 2x Whatsminers…

Ah I understand. Im currently using a big miner and a big AC infinity fan plus a duct to send the hot air in other rooms. Looking for a setup the whole family can use easily. Someone posted a link to Avalon heaters/miners in the thread. They look interesting

They do, but they require KYC to purchase their miners, so unfortunately they can go shag themselves.

You mean buying with a credit card?

No I mean you have to “Submit KYC”…

To buy a miner that heats your place? Wow

I don’t know about that
