It’s been a busy few months for🍷 nostr.wine. Here’s what we offer today:

- nostr.wine (regionally mirrored relay)

- filter.nostr.wine (aggregator relay)

- welcome.nostr.wine (new user relay)

- search.nostr.wine (kibana frontend)

- api.nostr.wine (search, more to come)

- 🆕 translate.nostr.wine (DeepL for sats)

- checkr.nostr.wine (relay event check)

- relay-status.nostr.wine (relay status)

Can’t wait to share our next relay with you! Things are taking a bit longer than we hoped but we are making good progress.

Congrats…! nostr.wine is setting the bar high when it comes to services provides around backend and relays…! I am sure more than 50% of Nostr users will start to pay for these services pretty soon..! Keep building…!

I was thinking about this on my drive this morning, I'd love to see a curated list of recommended relays. Broader is better, but currently relays don't self-describe very well, and it's hard to know exactly how reliable they are. A micro-app where users can browse relays and add them to their account would be really helpful.

Very interesting idea, seems a little baroque to me, but it could work. I've always envisioned recommendations coming directly from special-purpose relays (virtual or otherwise). The advantage of NIP-97 though is that it doesn't require any modification to the primitives we already have.

Short answer is: 3 days or 3 kind 1 events, whatever comes first. I’ve got a short write up here: https://docs.nostr.wine/welcome/relay-readme

The methodology isn’t perfect but it seems to do fairly well.

Thank you! I don’t see why we couldn’t offer an onion address for our relays. It’ll be a little less reliable/performant as it won’t be load balanced, but we can make it work.
