I was thinking about this on my drive this morning, I'd love to see a curated list of recommended relays. Broader is better, but currently relays don't self-describe very well, and it's hard to know exactly how reliable they are. A micro-app where users can browse relays and add them to their account would be really helpful.

We definitely need something like this. What do you think of the idea Brugeman and Vitor have been working on? nostr:note160wnuh522ufea564e02p9699k4xzl2gvgzjfwrcz63ygfm36e3msj4eldq
Very interesting idea, seems a little baroque to me, but it could work. I've always envisioned recommendations coming directly from special-purpose relays (virtual or otherwise). The advantage of NIP-97 though is that it doesn't require any modification to the primitives we already have.
I think there is probably still room for both. Still trying to wrap my head around it to be honest but I think it’s a cool idea.
