Tomorrow is Wed, 13-Mar-2024. On 13-Mar 2013, 11 years ago, Google announced the shutdown of Google Reader, their RSS aggregator product. This was done supposedly because the number of users was too low, but many people think it was because Google saw it as an internal competition to Google+.
Discussion
Shutting down Reader was a move that made many Google Power Users sceptical of Google as company.
It built a general position of distrust regarding the long term availability of Google products for many.
In other words, this date kind of marks the start of Google's enshittification journey, and is therefore in many tech calendars.

Google+ was a success story too - which they then simply closed also. And alienated many users (probably more as with reader).
