I still have irrational fear of heights (in open spaces).

I bungee-jumped into a mountain river. I sky-dived. None of that matters.

It appears to me that to truly get rid of irrational fear, you must be exposed to the fear factor on a regular basis.

I’m not going to sky-dive regularly as a hobby though, so I just have to live it it.

If it helps, it can be cured. I had the same issue up until 2021.

When you say open spaces, you mean something like a mountain peak or the Grand Canyon?

More like a balcony, but those will do the job, too.

I think it's worth taking a look on how you view success in life. On some level you might be fearful of what it represents.

easy way to get that exposure is living near the top of a classic commieblock, extra points for a spot with a lot of wind

Oddly same. Also did both of those jumps.

Flying with parachute was exhilarating, but climbing outta plane I was shitting myself everytime.

Overcame the fear then but it seems to be getting worse with age.
