I wager that companies will do the opposite

Instead of giving out raises because of your loss of purchasing power,

They will do pay cuts because the money keeps getting worth more and more

So they will be like yea you’re a valuable asset to the team and everything, but we are paying you too much now…

It's going to be interesting. Different places around the world will experience this at different points as the global system reorganises over the next few years.

I disagree. If you’re still employed, it should be because you’re a better employee. Every day that passes you’re more skilled.

It’s hard to know the rate of skills increasing vs the rate of increased purchasing power but I think psychologically, getting a pay cut sucks and if you keep your job, you’d probably be rewarded with stable pay.
