Had no idea. Thought computers were just so mysterious that developers would make sacrifices to fix their code and when they finally ran, just assumed it was just an entity controlling the machine 😬

Very interesting wording, I remember using Daemon tools to run and emulate the virtual discs that I’d find amongst the Internets vast libraries. The private communities servers always had the best quality.
I think you’re thinking of emulators. Daemons are vastly simpler processes running at much lower levels.
