The clients that start off nice but end up nowhere tend to be by developers who are not active on nostr.
To ship a good client you have to be using the thing you’re building.

Serious question, what’s the incentive to push client development? Are there ppl making sats from their client? Or is this all for the ethos?
I doubt anyone is making any serious money from clients - hence the need for grants.
I imagine it’s a long term play. Develop long enough and be positioned to capture the audience when it does make its way here.
At that point there are some ways to monetize - premium subs, % of payments, % of fees for purchases, marketplace fees, and so on.
Right now it’s probably mostly driven by grant funding and in some cases passion / hobby
