Serious question, what’s the incentive to push client development? Are there ppl making sats from their client? Or is this all for the ethos?
I doubt anyone is making any serious money from clients - hence the need for grants.
I imagine it’s a long term play. Develop long enough and be positioned to capture the audience when it does make its way here.
At that point there are some ways to monetize - premium subs, % of payments, % of fees for purchases, marketplace fees, and so on.
Right now it’s probably mostly driven by grant funding and in some cases passion / hobby
