I have a bunch of shoots that came up from an exposed root of my apple tree. They would probably root if you dipped them in some rooting hormone.
I don't know what variety it is, but it survived in Alaska for 20 years, occasionally down to -20F.

Do you know what tree it is? Was it a grafted root stock? Thanks for your response!
It's a Norland grafted onto rootstock. I have no idea what the rootstock is. These shoots are from below the graft.
Ok. how large is the tree? Seems like they would be compatible. Would there be root chunks with it or would I just get the sticks and then need to root myself? I'm very new to this with just tertiary knowledge so thanks for humoring me.
It was growing in a 15' tall green house, up to the peak. I had to prune it heavily every year. Last weekend, I cut it back to about 7' and transplanted it outside. I can send you 2-3' tall shoots off the root. You'd have to root them yourself.

Wow. Moving that must have been hard! After doing more research just the shoots without roots have very low/almost non existant success rate. One option brought up by AI was to select one or two of the healthiest shoots, cut off the rest, mound potting soil or other healthy soil around the shoots to encourage root growth, then after a season or two cut off shoots below roots. You could graft a different apple onto those shoots and have two trees close together. I'll have to pass but thank you for offering!
